PCOS happens when a woman’s hormones are out of balance.
Women with PCOS make slightly more male hormone than normal.
And yes it causes weight gain and a diet with no sugar should be followed.
A good diet and exercise are super beneficial and we personal trainers work closely with a few doctors to help our clients achieve the best results.
Many doctors miss the right diagnosis and say to their patients to lose weight.
This is not the case.
If you are experiencing PCOS symptoms like:
Chronic irregular or missed periods;
Acne and abnormal facial and body hair growth; or multiple small cysts on the ovaries.
You must look for medical advice and treatment.
And as I said we trainers can refer clients to doctor in cases where we see those symptoms and I have sent many clients to doctors and the diagnosis was right.
So as you can see, sometimes weight gain is a symptom of something else.
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a serious condition that affects the quality of life of many women.
