# How to know when to stop during an exercise

 [Exercise](https://www.ricardoriskalla.com/blog/category/exercise)

First let’s talk about that burning feeling during exercise.

That burning is caused by a production of lactic acid, a byproduct created during exercise.

There is no problem at all to feel that burning.

It is actually a good thing.

Lactic acid is great and helps the muscles to get toned.

We want that !

So please don’t stop exercising when you feel the burn.

A good trainer will take you to that stage.

So when to stop during any exercise?

I would say you should stop exercising if you feel ay grinding noise, sharp pain like a stab, a fall.

So next time you exercise keep an eye out for those points.

Let’s imagine you are there in the middle of a session and how to know what is the limit?
