In nutrition we say that we need three macronutrients for health: protein, carbohydrates and fats.
There are many diets out there that remove carbohydrates entirely, and they are all fads.
Our brains and muscles work on carbohydrates.
If you remove them from your diet, your body will use its alternative energy system using fat.
Using fat as the primary energy source is not ideal.
It has a by-product called ketones that are very toxic to the body in the long run.
Another misconception is around what a carbohydrate is.
I am talking here about vegetables and low sugar fruit.
So eat carbs!
