I was born in Brazil, and açai comes from Brazil.
When alone, it is a great food full of antioxidants,
The problem is that when you order it in a café, they add sugar and a few other unhealthy ingredients so it can taste good.
Also, açai bowls have a lot of fruit, and the fruit is full of sugar.
So it is not an ideal food.
I would avoid it altogether.
Try a bowl of blueberries and goji berries instead!
